A bit about me - I grew up in Californias Central Valley, moving from school to school, never spending much time in one spot. Growing up, I had a fiery passion for animals and competitive cheerleading. Despite my passion, chronic back pain and muscle spasms ended cheerleading for me and eventually lead me to my mat for the first time. I had no idea what I was doing there or how to do "yoga", but despite this, I found myself coming back time after time. A friend lead me to an amazing teacher, who lead me to an amazing studio and community.
At the age of 19, I realized I wasn't happy. Depression and anxiety slowly started to shadow my days and they began to become a constant battle of frustration. The frustration of knowing that I could be better and stronger than I was. I found myself frequently on my mat, spending time where I felt the most empowered.
My search for empowerment led me on a quest for inner peace, and that quest eventually led me to a 200 Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India. Better known as the yoga capital of the world. It was here that I learned that I was never really practicing Yoga, but I was practicing Asana. I started to understand my problems with attachment and expectation and it became clear that I needed to make a change in my life. I found that change in Yoga. I began to pay closer attention to my mental and physical body, both on and off the mat. My contentment become a new priority, and with every mile stone I reached in my practice my love for myself grew stronger.
I now share my practice with others and teach here in my home town, loving every second of connecting and learning from every beautiful student that crosses my path.
